Strengthening connections and shaping the future of research management

From 10–12 September, OmniStar proudly exhibited at the ARMS 2025 Conference in Melbourne, hosted by the Australasian Research Management Society. Held at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, this year’s theme — “Navigating the Playing Field: Innovation in a Complex Landscape” — resonated deeply with the challenges and opportunities faced by research institutions across the APAC region.

At Booth 7, our team had the pleasure of engaging with a wide range of attendees, from long-standing clients to new faces exploring research management solutions. It’s always rewarding to hear positive feedback from existing clients, many of whom stopped by to share their experiences and success stories using OmniStar. Clients currently in the implementation phase, such as The University of Sydney (USYD), expressed genuine excitement about having the system in place soon.

We also had insightful conversations with representatives from various research organisations and universities, diving into the pain points they face in managing research and grants. A common theme emerged: many are still relying on multiple software tools and spreadsheets, leading to manual, repetitive work that hinders efficiency and scalability.

As a SaaS company, we believe that post-COVID, face-to-face communication is more valuable than ever. These in-person interactions not only help us better understand our clients’ evolving needs but also strengthen relationships and foster collaboration.

We’re grateful to ARMS for hosting such a dynamic and impactful event, and we look forward to continuing the conversations sparked at the conference. Let’s keep shaping the future of research management — together.
